Samchem was incorporated as a private limited company under the Companies Act, 1965 on 13 January 1989. Samchem started out as an industrial chemical distributor, specialising on PU chemicals with our office located in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. By 1994, we relocated our office and warehouse to a light industrial terrace office in Bandar Sunway, Selangor.

As business continue to grow, Samchem has eventually formed three business units; PU, Intermediate, and Specialty. During the Asian financial crisis in 1997, we were able to weather it well and have seized the opportunity to secure even more distributorship agreements with world renowned chemical suppliers.

Samchem Sdn Bhd ("SCSB")In 2000, SCSB relocated our operations to a two (2)-unit semi-detached factory at Elite Industrial Park, Selangor. In the same year, we started to export our intermediate and specialty chemical products to Singapore. This was followed by successful penetration into Australia, the people's Republic of China ("PRC") and India. Our ability in placing great importance on responsible care to our suppliers in the chemical industry has made us the choice distributor by many chemical manufacturers.
Samchem Industries Sdn Bhd ("SC Industries")In 2004, SC Industries commenced operations in the distribution of specialty chemicals. We established a team of technically experienced personnel, to distribute specialty chemical products for the construction, paints and coatings, personal care, and many other industries. These products offer specific performance(s) and function(s), that are difficult to replace with other products.

and TN Industries Sdn Bhd ("TN Industries")

In 2005, we took a major step in expanding our distribution market coverage with the acquisition of Eweny Chemicals, TN Chemie and TN Industries. Eweny Chemicals (based in Ipoh, Perak), TN Industries (based in Shah Alam, Selangor) and TN Chemie (based in Johor Bahru, Johor) with their own profound market coverage in Northern, Central and South Peninsular Malaysia respectively, expanded and strengthened our market coverage and dominance in these regions. In addition, TN Chemie and TN Industries are blenders of customised solvents. Blending activities are carried out at TN Chemie's premise in Iskandar, Johor, and we will expand our in-house blending activities for the future.
SamchemSphere Export Sdn BhdIn November 2006, SCsphere was incorporated as a private limited company under the Companies Act, 1965. SCsphere commenced operations in February 2007 to penetrate the Vietnamese market.
Samchem Logistics Services Sdn Bhd ("SC Logistics")In 2007, our Group's headquarters was relocated to Shah Alam, Selangor to cater for our growth in business. In the same year, SC Logistics commence operations, and currently manages a fleet of 25 trucks, of which 13 are owned by our Group. The remaining trucks are either hired on contract or on ad-hoc basis. All our product delivery activities in our headquarters are managed by SC Logistics which ensures better logistics control and product safety handling.
Samchem Enviro Cycle Sdn Bhd ("SC Enviro")SC Enviro was incorporated as a private limited company under the Companies Act, 1965 on 27 April 2007, and is currently dormant. SC Enviro was establish to ultimately undertake our Group's business activity of collection, recycling, and supplying of reconditioned drums, which is targeted to commence in the forth quarter of 2011.
Samchemsphere Indochina (Vietnam) Company Limited ("SCsphere Indochina") SCsphere Indochina was incorporated as a limited liability company under the Laws of Vietnam on 13 May 2008. The intended principal activity of SCsphere Indochina is in the manufacturing of petrochemical solvents.
Yong Tai Samchem Sdn Bhd ("YTSSB")In 2004, Samchem entered into a JV with Yong Tai Berhad and incorporated YTSSB, which later formed Yongtai Samchem (HK) Company Limited ("YTSHK"), then owned Shanghai Sino-Malaysian International Trading Co., Ltd ("SMITC") which was incorporated in Shanghai, PRC in August 2004.
PT Multi Square ("PTMS")In 2004, Samchem also partnered with Sersol Technologies Berhad ("STB") to form PTMS in Jakarta, Indonesia to manufacture paints, lacquer and varnish. PTMS is principally involved in the manufacturing of plastic coating which caters to a niche market.
